This is Pac-Man played the way it was designed to be played: a pursuit game rather than a collecting game. Clearing the dots is the objective, but the real content is the four ghosts, and they are not interchangeable. Each one uses a different targeting rule. Blinky chases your current tile directly, Pinky aims several tiles ahead of where you are facing, Inky positions relative to both you and Blinky, and Clyde alternates between chasing and retreating depending on how close he is. Learning those four behaviours is the difference between surviving two levels and surviving twenty. The ghosts also cycle between chase and scatter phases on a timer. During scatter they head for their assigned corners regardless of where you are, and those windows are when you take risks and clear the awkward parts of the maze. Power pellets invert everything briefly, but eating all four ghosts on one pellet requires you to gather them first rather than grabbing the pellet the moment you reach it. The maze has one more secret worth knowing: ghosts cannot use the side tunnels at full speed, so a tunnel is an escape route that costs them more than it costs you.
How to Play Pac-Man Arcade
- 1Steer with the arrow keys or by swiping on a touchscreen. You cannot stop, only turn.
- 2Eat every dot in the maze to complete the level.
- 3Grab a power pellet to turn the ghosts blue and edible for a few seconds.
- 4Use the tunnels on either side of the maze to cross the screen and lose pursuers.
- 5Avoid ghost contact at any other time. Each collision costs a life.

Tips & Strategy
- Learn the corner patterns. During scatter phases the ghosts head for fixed corners, and that is your window to clear the dangerous parts of the maze.
- Do not eat a power pellet as soon as you reach it. Wait until two or three ghosts are close, then take it and chase them down for the escalating bonus.
- Cut corners on turns. Taking a turn tightly gains a fraction of a tile on anything chasing you, and over a level that adds up.
- The tunnels slow ghosts more than they slow you, so they are a genuine escape rather than just a shortcut.
